Welcome to our classroom!
In our class, I encourage the love of reading in everything we do. Middle school is all about that gradual departure from childhood as students are discovering new things about the world and themselves. I believe that books can help them make sense of their new environment, and even give them a frame of reference for their own experiences to come. One of my favorite things to do is our First Chapter Friday, where I read aloud the first chapter of a new book every week. I love connecting my students to a book they can relate to.
